Title: Bucky Lasek Skate Decks
Year: 2012
Section: Misc.
Dimensions:
Notes: From the press release:

Skate legend Bucky teamed up with Adam Yauch of the GRAMMY Award-winning Beastie Boys to create this one-of-a-kind artifact—Bucky Lasek’s personal ridden skateboard deck, plus three additional new skateboards, with his favorite song lyric (“Bodhisattva Vow”) written on them by Adam Yauch himself.

The three new decks feature one verse each from the Beastie Boys’ “Bodhisattva Vow,” with the deck that Lasek actually rode featuring drawings by Yauch on it. The ridden board is a 7-ply maple laminate Element brand Bucky Lasek “Free Tibet” pro model. It’s decorated with Lasek’s personal decal ensemble, and has all the signature wear and tear you would expect from a professional athlete.

In March 2012, Yauch hand-wrote wrote the lyrics to “Bodhisattva Vow” on the boards, completing this gift just weeks before he died in May.

Proceeds from the sale of this set of four (4) decks will benefit a skatepark project in New York City, Yauch’s hometown. Such an artifact from two icons of the skate and music worlds has never existed before, and your bid will help create a lasting legacy.

These boards will remain in the exhibit through Monday, December 17, 2012, and will be available to ship after that date. They include a Letter of Authenticity from the Tony Hawk Foundation, custom embroidered velvet covers, as well as custom hanging hardware from Sk8ology.
