First Tibetan Freedom Concert
The concert was held over two days (June 15 and 16, 1996). It raised $800,000 and had 100,000 attendees.
Early on during the concert, Biz Markie recreated the same feeling of
Check Your Head's track sequencing by doing his vocals on
"The Biz vs. the Nuge" prior to
"Time for Livin'." Following
"Stand Together," Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest joined the Beastie Boys on stage and lent his vocals during the performance of
"Get It Together." Later on, Biz Markie returned to the stage and helped out on
"Do It."
